Wilson Power Solutions took a significant step forward in its environmental strategy by hosting a comprehensive decarbonisation workshop, with carbon specialists Auditel, at its Leeds head office.
The Decarbonisation Workshop
With Net Zero ambitions embedded in its DNA, Wilson Power Solutions recently held a decarbonisation workshop facilitated in collaboration with Auditel, the company’s dedicated carbon partner. The event marks a significant milestone in Wilson Power Solutions’ ongoing commitment to sustainability and its drive to lead by example in the transition to a low‑carbon future.
The session brought together key stakeholders from across Wilson Power Solutions’ UK operations, breaking down departmental silos and fostering a collaborative approach focused on practical, impactful environmental actions.
About Wilson Power Solutions
Established in 1946 by entrepreneur Richard Wilson, the company has grown from a small family business supplying flame‑proof equipment, pumps, and motors into one of the industry’s most trusted manufacturers of power and distribution transformers.
Now in its third generation of family management, Wilson Power Solutions employs more than 150 people in the UK and 500 in India, delivering major electrical infrastructure projects and supporting the UK’s decarbonisation efforts with ultimate low loss transformers, Europe’s most efficient distribution transformer.
The company has also played a key role in supplying transformers for three of Europe’s largest Battery Energy Storage Systems.
Key Highlights of the Workshop
Strategic Collaboration: Working alongside carbon and procurement experts at Auditel allowed the Wilson Power Solutions team to evaluate their current carbon footprint with industry-leading insights.
Cross-Operational Engagement: Involving representatives from all areas of the UK business ensured that the resulting sustainability strategies are practical, comprehensive, and universally supported.
Actionable GHG Reduction: The primary focus of the session was identifying tangible methods to lower Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The teams successfully developed a robust range of innovative ideas and operational tweaks designed to make a positive, measurable impact on the environment. Wilson Power Solutions is now in the process of reviewing and implementing the strategies developed during the session, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking leader committed to a greener future.
Ayah Alfawaris, Head of Group Marketing and Sustainability at Wilson Power Solutions, comments, “After 2.5 years immersed in Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions accounting and SECR reporting, it was immensely rewarding to see colleagues from across the organisation come together with genuine curiosity and a shared commitment to carbon reduction. Facilitated by Auditel, the workshop marked an important step toward embedding climate action in our collective mindset and operational culture.”
