Wedlake Bell is pleased to have joined forces with its new Carbon Partner, Auditel, to deliver on its long-term strategy of reaching Net Zero.

A City of London law firm founded in 1780, Wedlake Bell is rooted in tradition with a lasting legacy of client service. It recognises long-standing relationships with clients; how they have helped shape the firm’s past and will provide a platform for the future. With 75 partners supported by almost 300 lawyers and support staff, Wedlake Bell operates on a four-practice group model: private client, business services, real estate and dispute resolution.

Martin Arnold, Managing Partner comments, “Our driving force is to empower our clients by providing quality legal advice, insights and intelligence that enables them to achieve their goals whether personal or business. We are large enough to advise on the most complex matters, but small enough to ensure a personal and dynamic service. Building relationships is at the heart of everything we do.

It is important for us as a firm to measure our carbon footprint so we can ensure that we are doing everything we can to reduce it over time. We want to do business with suppliers that mirror our ethos and look forward to sharing findings, results and future strategies with our clients, who we know are increasingly aware of the carbon reduction journeys of their partners.”

Peter Skinner, Business Development & Marketing Director continues, “We are aware of and fully accept the pressures on businesses to look carefully at the road to carbon neutrality and eventually net zero, but it is a complex journey. We have been looking for a carbon partner to help us understand the challenges we face as a business within the unique dynamics of a law firm structure. Auditel has both the knowledge and experience to support us and ensure that our goals are reached.”

Carbon Specialist, Nicky Sinker comments, “I am delighted to be working with Wedlake Bell on their journey to net zero. They have already implemented a number of initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, such as removing single use plastics, recycling food waste and putting in LED and motion activated lights in their head office. With our partnership we will work together to build on this foundation by calculating their carbon footprint and putting in place credible and implementable carbon reduction plans.”
