Spectrum Foodservice has begun its journey to net zero emissions, joining forces with carbon specialists Auditel to help drive impactful, lasting change.
Spectrum Foodservice is a family run foodservice wholesale going for 25 years supplying many sectors including, Education, Contract Catering, Vending, Golf Clubs and Jiffy van business to name a few. They’ve built a reputation for supplying high-quality soft drinks, snacks and other foodservice essentials with a focus on speed, efficient and great customer support.
Their vision for achieving net zero is rooted in a commitment to building a business that delivers exceptional service to customers while actively reducing its environmental footprint. Reaching net zero involves making practical, meaningful changes across their operations—from transitioning to cleaner vehicles to embracing greener energy solutions within their depots.
Spectrum understands that the journey to net zero is complex, and they were committed to doing it right. They chose to partner with carbon specialists Auditel, who came highly recommended by one of their clients. Having seen the impressive results Auditel delivered over the years, Spectrum felt assured in choosing them as their carbon partner.
Joe Marlow, Managing Director, comments on this, “This gives us confidence Auditel are of the absolute highest standard and will be absolutely invaluable in helping us in our Net Zero journey.”
This marks a significant step forward for Spectrum Foodservice. They acknowledge that their industry, through manufacturing, transport, and waste, inevitably contributes to carbon emissions. That’s why they’re committed to playing their part in reducing both global emissions and those specific to their sector, recognising the importance of this effort for everyone involved, directly and indirectly.
Spectrum has also begun to face increasing legislative pressure from the UK government, particularly around carbon reporting requirements, in order to remain eligible to tender for school contracts. Joe Marlow continues, “Government tenders for schools and colleges have started requiring a carbon reduction plan to be in place in order to tender, this has become more and more relevant over the last few years with all tenders now requiring some kind of social value and carbon plan to be in place.”
Spectrum Foodservice has set ambitious sustainability goals, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and reach net zero by 2040.
“Our vision is to keep growing as a trusted foodservice partner; while steadily reducing our carbon footprint so we do our part in helping towards a healthier environment.”
Joe Marlow, Managing Director
