Milestones Trust has joined forces with their new Carbon Partner Auditel to deliver on their strategic objective of becoming Carbon Neutral while on their longer-term objective of reaching Net Zero.

Milestones Trust supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and those with complex behavioural needs.  Ian Atkinson, Director of Estates, Facilities & IT, says. “We work to ensure that the people we support have every opportunity to live happy and fulfilled lives, while enabling them to have as much independence as possible.

The support we offer is unique to each person we work with, because they are all individuals with different needs. Some people need just a small amount of support to live in their own homes, while others may need a lot of support, for example with cooking, shopping, eating, going out, washing and dressing. We take a person-centred approach and adapt how we do things to reflect people’s changing circumstances and desires as they go through life.

At Milestones, we have taken our first steps towards the reduction of our carbon footprint through completion of a Carbon Inventory and Footprint report, completed by Auditel. By measuring our carbon footprint, Milestones now has access to the data needed to formulate a carbon reduction strategy. The climate emergency is everyone’s responsibility and we’re committed to doing our part to hit Net Zero.”

Gillian Gibbon from Auditel added. “We are delighted to be working with Milestones Trust on their Net Zero journey. We have worked with them for many years helping them to reduce their costs and ensure they are getting value from money from their suppliers. We look forward to continuing working with the team and their suppliers to help them achieve an industry recognised standard of Carbon Neutrality.”
