It will also help them identify areas for further improvement and maintain accountability in their efforts to reduce their environmental impact further.

At Menard UK, they have already started their carbon reduction plan in line with their Group’s targets of reaching a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030. They are committed to setting yearly targets to reduce Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions by optimising their designs, enhancing energy efficiency, and engaging with their supply chain.

Menard UK’s next steps for carbon reduction focus on the key areas where their main emissions come from across Scope 1, 2 and 3 –
- Prioritise reducing their diesel consumption on site and increase their use of HVO fuels on projects to decrease their Scope 1 emissions.
- Committed to electrifying their company vehicle fleet to further reduce their footprint.
- Focusing on design optimisation and procuring low and very low carbon concrete.
- Using recycled aggregates to significantly contribute to their carbon reduction targets and help drive sustainable practices across the business.
Menard will be hosting a carbon reduction workshop to engage all their employees in identifying their main carbon sources and hotspots, fostering collective collaboration on how to reduce them.
Additionally, Menard are excited to soon begin their PAS 2080 journey with the support of Auditel, having already ran two workshops to kick-start the process.
