Kilworth House Hotel & Theatre has joined forces with their new Carbon Partner Auditel to deliver their objective of becoming Carbon Neutral while on their longer-term objective of reaching Net Zero.
Elizabeth Payne, General Manager comments. “Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre is a privately owned business with a AA 4 Red Star award acknowledging that we are fully committed to operating with high standards of service throughout.
As our business has evolved since opening in 2003, so has our commitment to ethical and environmental practices. We initially achieved a Silver Green Tourism Award but, in recent years we have invested heavily into specific projects such as recycling, lighting and the installation of a Biomass boiler.
We now wish to continue on this journey of sustainability for the benefit of our staff, our customers and the environmental future of the building and 38 acre Estate, not just in the short term, but for future generations. We have partnered with Auditel, to assist us on our sustainability journey, to gain guidance and accreditation. We have formed a working party with representation from all areas of our business to ensure that our commitment is at the heart of our business as we progress to reducing our carbon footprint in a meaningful and measurable way and becoming Carbon neutral.”
Julie Adams, Carbon Auditor at Auditel added. “We are delighted to be working with Kilworth House Hotel & Theatre, a genuine champion of sustainability in the hotel and theatre sector.
We love their ambition and commitment to minimise the impact they have on the environment and look forward to working with the team to help them achieve an industry recognised standard of verified carbon neutrality.”
