Geo Green Power sponsored the East Midlands Sustainability Summit in partnership with Auditel in 2024. They were impressed by the extensive knowledge and expertise shared by the speakers at the event, as well as the emphasis on measurability and recognised accreditations.
Auckland continues, “We want to be as transparent and robust as possible when it comes to measuring our impact and we are confident that Auditel will help us to deliver this.”
Geo Green Power have consistently aimed to be a company that practices what it preaches. This commitment is reflected in their introduction of electric vehicles to their fleet and their use of renewable energy sources to power and heat their offices.
Their decision to formally measure their carbon footprint builds on the initiatives they have already implemented. This allows them to more clearly demonstrate their impact and develop a plan to minimise it as much as possible.
Geo Green Power have already started on decarbonisation projects and have implemented the below –
Electric and plug in hybrid vehicles in their fleet and have committed to not purchasing any new petrol or diesel vehicles
Installed solar PV and a GSHP at their old offices; and have installed solar panels on their new offices
Planted over 1000 trees a year with ‘treeapp’, to support projects that aim to restore habitats, prevent land erosion and increase diversity
As carbon reporting requirements become more stringent and organisations continue to establish their own targets, collaborating with like-minded suppliers is increasingly crucial. Geo Green Power aims to ensure they can meet and exceed any supplier standards set by their customers.
Auckland, states, “We will set a target to become Carbon Neutral when we fully understand the extent of our carbon footprint and what’s involved but we will definitely be ambitious!”
