This week overall prices were down again, particularly driven by the continued warmer weather, which has reduced heating demand and some quite healthy renewable generation. On top of that, a rallying pound towards the end of the week kept the pressure on prices to remain low.
Further along the curve, the absence of any major economic, or political indicators meant that the prices followed the near curve and softened also.
Looking forward, with fundamentals appearing to be relatively stable we might expect the trend to continue as we leave winter behind us and certainly, there is room for prices to fall further based on recent history.
