Brecon Carreg are delighted to announce that since they joined forces with their Carbon Partner Auditel, they are now well down the path to becoming Verified Carbon Neutral and delivering on their long-term strategic objective of reaching Net Zero.
David Stockley Managing Director of Brecon Carreg comments. “Sustainability is a core part of the Brecon Carreg brand, with a commitment to not only producing a natural product, but also to protecting the natural habitat surrounding it – the Brecon Beacons National Park.
More than ever, we need to take action and work even harder in the fight against climate change. We’ve already made the commitment to produce packaging from 100% recycled content by 2025 and our work with Auditel is an important next step in our sustainability journey.
The work we will be undertaking with them will allow us to measure and drive our progress to becoming Carbon Neutral and, ultimately, Net Zero. We are also currently investigating the possibility of installing solar panels on our property which could potentially provide up to 40% of our energy requirements going forward.
As a company, we supply to customers ranging from small family businesses right up to biggest retailers in the UK. As a result, we are increasingly being asked questions about our carbon footprint – how we are measuring it and what our strategy is to reduce it. With the help of Auditel, we will continue to challenge ourselves and our partners to take steps to mitigate and reduce the carbon footprint of our products.”
Huw Williams, Auditel’s Principal Carbon Accountant & Verifier comments. “Brecon Carreg really are ahead of the curve. The culture within the whole organisation is totally focused on a drive to achieving carbon neutrality. Working with them has been a joy, everyone we have worked with is on the same page and focused on reaching Net Zero as soon as possible.

About Brecon Carreg
Nestled in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park is the protected source of Brecon Carreg natural mineral water.
Beginning life as rain falling on the hills and valleys, it takes an incredible 15 years to filter through solid layers of limestone rock before finally making its way to the surface, where our team bottle at the source.
If we protect the water, the water protects us. Our long-term vision at Brecon Carreg is a commitment to care for nature and our community, preparing for the future.
