The transition to a low-carbon economy is creating new challenges and opportunities for organisations. Increasingly, customers, clients and major procurement frameworks expect businesses not only to understand their carbon emissions, but also to demonstrate that they have credible systems in place to measure, manage and reduce them.
I help organisations understand their carbon footprint, develop practical carbon reduction strategies and put the processes and evidence in place to demonstrate their progress. My focus is on making carbon management practical and achievable – helping businesses meet customer and regulatory requirements while also identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and strengthen their position when bidding for new work.
I support organisations with carbon footprint measurement, management and reporting, carbon reduction planning and the development of Net Zero strategies. I also help businesses prepare for independent assessment and meet recognised carbon management and reporting requirements, including PAS 2080:2023, ISO 14064-1, ISO 14068-1 and PPN 006.
Construction and Infrastructure
Since the publication of PAS 2080:2023, I have increasingly specialised in supporting businesses working within the construction and infrastructure sectors, where requirements around carbon management have developed rapidly.
I work with contractors, subcontractors, asset owners, designers and suppliers to help them understand and meet the carbon requirements being placed on them by clients, Tier 1 contractors and major procurement frameworks. This includes helping organisations develop their approach to whole-life carbon management and meet relevant industry standards and requirements.
For PAS 2080 specifically, I help construction and infrastructure businesses understand what the standard means for their organisation, assess their existing approach against its requirements, identify gaps and put the necessary processes, responsibilities and evidence in place to prepare for independent third-party assessment.
My aim is not simply to help organisations comply with a standard, but to embed carbon management into the way decisions are made – from procurement and design through to construction, operation and the wider supply chain.
Cost Management
Supported by Auditel’s network of specialists in procurement and cost management, together with its extensive supplier relationships and pricing frameworks, I can also help organisations identify and deliver savings across a wide range of expenditure areas.
This combination of carbon management and cost management can be particularly valuable, helping organisations identify opportunities where reducing carbon and reducing cost can go hand in hand.
About Me
I have more than 25 years’ experience as a senior leader in operations and service delivery, with particular expertise in strategy development and implementation, people leadership, project management and change management.
I bring that practical management experience to carbon management. Rather than treating carbon reduction as a separate environmental exercise, I help organisations establish the strategies, responsibilities, processes, data and management information needed to make it part of normal business decision-making.
I am passionate about helping organisations reduce their environmental impact, but I am equally focused on making sure that the approach is practical and commercially relevant. Done well, carbon management can help organisations reduce emissions and costs, meet increasingly demanding customer requirements, strengthen tender submissions and create a genuine competitive advantage.
